Reworked & Recycled

Shelling Ethically

These are the rules I follow and you should too!

  1. NEVER take animals who are alive, which means always checking for any shells that have a creature inside.

  2. Be sure to check local regulations, take only what you need or will use, and leave the area as undisturbed as possible.

  3. Returning unused shells to the ocean allows them to become part of the shoreline, serve as homes for other creatures, or continue their natural journey.

Where we locally shell

  • I take old pieces either gifted or thrifted and reuse the material by taking it apart, cleaning it, and either utilizing unbroken parts or fixing what is repairable.

  • I use primarily reworked and recycled beads and charms.

When buying new chain, medals, and connectors I only source from ethically and environmentally conscious sources.

  • Other than my material, I try to limit waste as much as possible. This being said if I any left over material I will keep it for different projects and I will reuse as much packaging as I can.
